The Food Technology Centre at Penrith offers six professional kitchens for hire, as well as food preparation equipment, room for packing and labelling, washing up, and raw goods and finished product storage. You can rent a kitchen for as little as a day or make a regular booking--exactly what you need to help your business.
You’re starting out
Starting up a food business is hard. Your workspace must meet certain standards, equipment is expensive, and time is at a premium. No wonder so many great ideas never make it off the ground. The Food Centre takes away some of these barriers: we provide commercial kitchen hire, equipment, building management services, and HACCP paperwork, leaving you free to concentrate on running your business.
We've got ovens, mixers, boiling pans, freezers, refrigerators, a chill room... not to mention a wide range of small equipment. All you need to do is hire a kitchen, turn up with your ingredients and get started!
You’re developing a new product or testing the market
Introducing a new product to the market can be a task fraught with uncertainty. Hiring a kitchen at the Food Centre is a way of developing a new product whilst removing some of the uncertainty, and a much cheaper way of finding out whether a product will fly than setting up for yourself right away!
You’re expanding your business
Perhaps you’re an existing business that works from a small unit or kitchen at home that doesn’t have the space to grow your business?
We’ve got areas for packing, raw goods storage, finished product storage and washing-up. We can even lend you equipment until you get your own. Hire a kitchen and watch your business grow!
You need extra production capacity
For existing food businesses, times of year such as Christmas, Easter and Halloween can be real money spinners if you have the capacity. By hiring a kitchen at the Food Centre for a few days you can increase your production capacity and cope with seasonal demand or big contracts and avoid missing out on that extra revenue.
You’re consolidating your business
Given the current economic climate, perhaps you need to take a step back and evaluate which areas of your business are pulling their weight, and which ones can be pruned back. Hire a kitchen at the Food Centre and streamline your business. Focus on the areas that make the most money whilst consolidating running costs such as utilities, building management and ordering of cleaning products and consumables.
